Electric Motor Power Requirements?

If you can "provide 48V with 7.29A to the motor" you ARE providing 350 watts. Electrical power is equal to volts times amps. You say the motor specification is "rated continuous power output : 350W Because it says "power output" his means the *mechanical* power OUT OF THE MOTOR is 350 Watts, or about half a horse power. One HP is equivalent to 745.7 Watts. Because a motor does not convert all of the electrical power to mechanical, there is some loss in the form of heat in the motor. Because of this, you must be able to supply a little more than 350 Watts of electrical power to the motor. If only 80 % of the electrical power gets converted to mechanical power, this is 80% efficiency. In this case you need to supply 350 / 0.8 or 438 watts. At 48 V this amounts to 9.13 A. So your Fuel cell must have the ability to supply this current. This assumes that the battery it replaces could also supply that same current. This 350 watt number is the maximum capability of the motor. It can probably a do a bit more for short periods, but this is the maximum it is designed to deliver. Now, a motor draws different amounts of current depending on the mechanical load. The more you accelerate, or as you are going up hill, it will draw more current than when you are on the level, or still less as you go down hill. It could be that in normal use, the motor never draws that current. What the motor actually *needs* at any given time will be shown as the current it actually draws from the battery / fuel cell. ADDED: I should have also said that you must have some kind of an accelerator. It is most likely a pulse width modulated (PWM) type for high efficiency. This undoubtedly changes the average voltage to the motor. As you accelerate and the motor has a mechanical load of the bicycle, the motor will demand various amounts of current from the battery. Accelerate more or go up a hill and the motor will draw more current. So, basically you give it voltage with your drive circuit, and the motor takes what current i needs. So the current, and therefore the power, delivered varies and the motor determines what it needs and "takes it". Your battery and speed control must have the capability of supplying that current, and therefore power to the motor... and all will be happy. Hope this helps.

No, do not try. The lubricating oil for car is meant for 4-stroke engine, where the oil is not to be burnt with the fuel-air mixture in the combustion chamber. 2T oil for 2-stroke engine is formulated for lubrication and to be burnt off . In the 2 stroke engine, it does not has a separated lubricating system to reduce the friction between the piston and the cylinder wall.

2. where is the fuel pressure valve on the motor?

The fuel pressure valve is almost always bolted to the end of one of the fuel rails. It will have a vacuum line running to it and possibly a fuel return line going off of it toward the back of the engine/fire wall. there is no real way to test the fuel valve because it is a bypass for excess fuel pressure so it will be very hard to tell if it is letting too much fuel pass. They almost never go bad. but they are usually pretty cheap if you want to replace it for the hell of it. Only fuel injected vehicles have a fuel valve so if yours is carberated you wo not have a fuel valve. The problem is more likely in the ignition system. Pull a spark plug hook it to the wire and hold the end of it on the block. Look for the spark. You may also have bad wires that are letting spark jump off onto the block. The only way to tell this is in the dark because you will be able to see the spark jump or run your hand down the wire and if you get shocked you know the wire is bad. Have you checked the timing belt if you have one. That might also be a problem. If you have a timing chain this will not apply. Take the distributor cap off and turn the engine over does the rotor turn smoothly? Year, make, model, and engine size would have helped immensely here.
