Do I Need a Block Heater for 2010 Toyota Corolla?

2010 is not old. something like a 1995 then i would look into it but u should be fine. almost all engines made after 1998 are designed to adjust air and fuel to make it start

1. Does my car have an engine block heater? (2010 civic)

I added a Honda(tm) OEM block heater to my 2009 Civic Hybrid. I was living in Kansas at the time and pre-heating the engine seemed to help with mileage an time until heat available on very cold mornings. On the 2009 HCH there is a plug screwed into the back of the block just below the head, on the passenger side. unscrew the plu and replace with the heater. You have to drain down the coolant to do this with minimal mess. Actually a far easier operation than the Freeze plug replacement (which I did at the same time to a Chrysler V-6). I ordered the part online (from a reputable, but now forgotten site) Be certain to route the cable as per instructions and away from any exhaust pipes

2. Ford f150 I6 block heater?

Do you mean a device for keeping the block warm in freezing weather? If that's what you are talking about, consider this: Unless your truck was built for and sold in an area where extreme cold is a problem, it may not have one. They are options. Most people in the south have never even heard of them. Ask them if it came with one. Also, depending on what type (a lot of dealers in cold climes put them on as an add on freebie, since they are relatively inexpensive) it could be in two or three places some utilize block access through pre-existing threaded plug holes, a few actually utilize freeze plug ports, and other cheapos use the oil drain plug hole.....these tend to shorten your oil life...... Does your manual make mention of one? Anyway....If you've scoured the lower block and front end high and low and can not find anything, chances are it doesnt have one. If on the other hand you are talking about the heater core.....its in the passenger compartment in the underworks of the dash/firewall area.....look for the boxy area with the floor ducts coming out of it.

3. Moving to Alaska... installing an engine block heater plug on my car?

As long as you have proper anti freeze in your cars cooling system you can get by without the block heater for a while

4. would a cars cigarette lighter outlet be enough to power another cars block heater?

How cold is it. It may be cold and hard to start, but if everything is in working order, you should be able to start it ok. Alright, I usualy would never suggest this (if my instructor knew I ever told someone to do this, he would kill me). But go to a local parts store and get a can of "Starting Fluid". Open up the Air Cleaner and spray the fluid for about 2 or 3 seconds into the intake after the Air Filter, then crank your engine over. Starting fluid is basicly ether, and it may sound rough for a second because it will fire on pure ether, but it should do the trick to get your car started.

5. Would the freezing cold affect my started when the block heater isnt plugged in?

in case you stay in a particular chilly component to the rustic why not seem ahead to chilly snaps and use a timer to warmth the engine coolant for about an hour and a 1/2 till now you go away. you will save on capacity both techniques. gas, and electrical energy. the favourite block heater is a 750 watt ingredient that does not use all that a lot capacity and it really is there to warmth up the intake manifold fluid and engine block plus a touch to the heater which will take a lot less time in warmth up of the engine and take of once a couple of minutes particularly of 20 minutes. till now you go away or get on your automobile do not forget to unplug it. Your timer is off till eventually you confirm to plug it in back an devour capacity. to respond to you question to commence your engine with it on received't damage something. on the instantaneous swap on your defroster your rear window defogger, and a couple of minutes your goner

My car's block heater broke, and the temp is -50c. Is my car gonna be OK?start it up and run it each day if possible to operating temp...itll be better than just letting it freeze up4. At what temp. should you use a block heater for your car?I think it depends on the vehicle. I have driven Mercedes diesels for years. I have one with 649K miles, and I have to plug it in at 20 degrees (F) or below, else it's not going to start. The other two have half or less the mileage, and most of the time I never plug them in at all. About the coldest it gets here is 15 (F) or so normally, so I do not have the extreme temps some people have. Years ago I had an Olds 98 diesel and a Cadillac Fleetwood diesel, and never plugged in either one, and they always started. My old '89 F250 Ford pickup had to be plugged in around 20 degrees F, otherwise it had difficulty starting, too. Just depends on how the engine acts when it's cold. Some just do better than others. I've had several diesel farm tractors, never had one that even had a block heater on it, never had a lot of trouble. I drive a tractor-trailer part-time, one day a week, and we've never used a block heater on it, either. Again, just depends on the individual engine, and the temps you have. Just experiment with it. It wo not hurt anything to leave it plugged in. PS - I would LOVE to hear an explanation from the moron who gave that thumbs-down on this one.5.
